ABOUT THE BAND
Toronto-based Signe Miranda's Veranda is a four-piece alternative roots-rock band whose new single, "It's Been So Long (Spread Out Our Wings)," is produced by Greg Godovitz (Goddo). The song blends 60's psychadellic folk/rock, with 90's pop/rock. They're currently recording follow up singles for their Heart Wave album, to be released one single at a time, with Jeremy Trites engineering & mixing, at Rouge Valley Studios. The album includes musicians, Brian Allossery, Shamakah Ali, Bob Egan (Blue Rodeo), Oh Susanna and Bill Dillon (Sarah McLachlan, Daniel Lanois, Peter Gabriel).
The live band is led by singer-songwriter/guitarist (and author of the #1 International Best Selling book, "The Song Creation Formula: 7 Easy Steps to Writing Your Song") Signe Miranda, with drummer Shamakah Ali (Al Green, Shakura S'aida), lead guitarist Fraser Melvin, alternating bassists, Marcus Walker and Robin Latimer, and keyboardist Peter Nunn (Honeymoon Suite, Andy Kim). Their previous album, September Night, blends together a sound that seamlessly brings you on a journey from post-break-up, alt-pop-punk title track, “September Night” to warm, spacious, alt-country gem, “Like It Was Yesterday”. "September Night" received "Honorable Mention" in the 2010 Song of The Year competition (The Songwriter Foundation) and "She's Breaking Up" was #48 on NBTMusic Radio's top 100 songs of 2012, a German internet-based station.
